Il core team di Lord of the Rings Online e Dungeons & Dragons Online hanno abbandonato Turbine per avviare un nuovo studio indie chiamato Standing Stone Games. Turbine e Daybreak Games hanno annunciato la notizia sul sito ufficiale di Lord of the Rings Online, rassicurando i fan che i giochi continueranno ad esistere e che, anzi, ci saranno migliorie e nuovi contenuti in futuro.
